The Habibi Dancers have brought traditional and modern Middle Eastern dance to the Midwest communities for the past 34 years, including our annual spring event featuring many of our sister troupes and honored guests for educational workshops and an always entertaining show.
Dancers are invited to audition based on dance experience as space is made available within the troupe. Our dancers come in all shapes, sizes and experience levels.
Artistic Director: Yasmina Amal
Yasmina Amal is a classically trained dancer whose repertoire ranges from ballet and modern to jazz and beyond. Yasmina teaches a variety of dance classes through the City of Lansing Parks and Recreation program at Foster Community Center and at In Step Dance Studio, in Potterville.
Nismah
While her dance background consists of jazz and modern, Nismah was introduced to and fell in love with belly dancing in 2005 and joined the troupe in 2007. She works as a public relations consultant for nonprofits and state agencies, and enjoys spending time with her husband and two sons.
